Dextrose (or dex for short) is a brewing sugar - use to distill neutral spirit. 

It dissolves easier, ferments more quickly than sugar. 

And has a has a higher conversion rate (that’s a higher alcohol content). Using dextrose will also give you cleaner fermentation and a more neutral profile and that means a better quality spirit.
