How to make Hard Seltzer

How to make Hard Seltzer

MAKE HARD SELTZER AT HOME.

Hard Seltzer - What is it?

Basically, Seltzers are a fizzy or carbonated water. Unlike soda water or tonic it does contain minerals or syrups. Make it alcoholic and you have a Hard Seltzer - it’s like fizzy alcoholic water, no sugar, no carbs and all gluten free. Sounds to me like a healthy drink!

How Do You Make a Hard Seltzer?

It's easy to make Hard Seltzer at home. The process is pretty much the same as making beer or cider. Simply ferment, flavour and bottle (or keg).

Mangrove Jacks have three different types of Hard Seltzer kits. These include Raspberry Breeze, Pineapple Sunset and Lemon and Lime Splash.

Full instructions on how to brew come with the kit. Basically,  you add it to your fermenter, top it up to 21 litres with water, pitch the yeast and leave it to work its magic. Once fermentation is complete, add the flavourings. Leave for 24 hours then bottle or keg.

If you want to make hard seltzer with your own ingredients grab a Mangrove Jack Hard Seltzer Yeast and Nutrient packet

In four weeks or less, you can be kicked back with the perfect summer drink!

Pimp Up Your Flavours

We like to experiment around here, and Seltzers really give you the chance to get creative.  At the flavouring stage try adding up to 500g of fresh or frozen fruit.

Be brave with summer fruit combos like, raspberry, watermelon and mint, pineapple and passionfruit, orange and mango or summer stone fruits like peach and nectarine. Serve it chilled, topped with a fresh garnish of fruits or herbs to add that extra touch of flavour.

Crisp, chilled and clean, a Hard Seltzer is the perfect summer drink we all need!

Cheers.
